This past weekend we had the opportunity to see our daughter, Alison’s art exhibit in Santa Fe. As proud parents, we are

pleased to announce Alison has 2 pieces displayed! The exhibition consisted of art submitted by SFCC college students, their teachers, and only 16

NMSA high school students were chosen. As you enter the gallery Alison’s is on the far right.

Out of the 16 NMSA students, five were invited to participate in a dialog with other students and a panel of teachers. Questions like “What is art? What does art mean to you? What is our role as artists in society?” were asked and the dialog began. The conversation escalated with the last question. The answers varied from being social commentaries, help simplify society, and reflect our perspective of the world. Alison felt honored to engage with the other artists.

I love this image: As a mother, my heart swells to witness someone stopping to observe, study, and

meditate on a work of art my daughter created. Yes, there were many tears this night- I am an emotional creature.

The night’s festivities are over and we head out to leave. Our four darling creatures head out together- our 3 sons and 1 daughter-

caught in a moment of togetherness.

I love this moment.

I took his advice  this PartnerCon and just Enjoyed BEING IN an amazing city WITH many of my esteemed colleagues, adored mentors and fabulous friends. I took every opportunity to soak in the magic of the Pictage Community and really get to know those around me. My heart is Happy to have made new connections and strengthen friendships.
My good Buddy Daren Boussard who I met at Texas School this past May picked me up from the airport. What a great friend to drive 2 hours just to hang out with me, show me the town of N’awlins. We also visited the AfterDark EDU conference going on at the same time as PartnerCon. There we met up with MORE great friends from our incredible industry-Like Tom Stanley From WHCC, Sam Fairchild from Midwest Photo Exchange, John Snow from Larosn Entrprises, Lori Nordstrom, Tri Coast, Tammy Mars, Jen Hillengea, JulieAnne Kost, Eddie Tapp and Ken Sklute.

I missed my flight to NOLA and had to wait a the Denver Airport for 6 hours… But WHO was tweeting at Gate 37D??? Dane Sanders! I attended his Fast Track Photographer Workshop in Newport Beach, CA just the week before! Missing the first flight was fate. Dane invited me to sit with him and he started “The Conversation.” Dane was able to reach my soul. I cried at the realization that there are parts of me that I do not like and must become friends with.

I am always excited when Mrs. Pat Lilley calls the studio and says she has a new piece of jewelry that needs to be photographed.

This is the third set I have photographed for Pat. Jewelry Making has been Pat’s passion for several years.

I met Pat in 1999 in Tap dance class at Miss Minnie’s School of  Ballet. We tapped together two mornings a week for a few years.

She is a magnicifiant tapper; a natural. Pat always reminded me of the adorable Shirley Temple while dancing!

 Pat Lilley is a true inspiration in my life. Not only is she an amazing jeweler,  she is also the amazing mother of 10 children!
